About Me

Hi, I’m Eliane Morel a Sydney based singer, actor and writer.

For the last two years I’ve been Principal Mezzo Soprano with Sydney’s favourite boutique opera company, Opera Bites, and with this beautiful bunch have had the privilege of singing the roles of Rosina in The Barber of SevilleCount Orlofsky in
Die Fledermaus, and numerous Opera Highlights concerts.

I have written and performed several of my own shows, the most recent being Disenchanted, a Cabaret of Twisted Fairy Tales

In 2020 I received a grant from Waverley Council to workshop and write a play based on the lives of local Olympic swimming legends, Fanny Durack and Mina Wylie. The play is being written with Merran Hughes, Vashti Hughes and Soledad Cordeauz, and with the assistance of a grant from Randwick Council will be performed in 2021 at Wylie’s Baths in Coogee.

As a Theatre-in-Education actor for Troubie Theatre I currently star in two solo shows –  ‘The Lucky Country’  – a play about post-war migration, featuring six characters from diverse backgrounds, ‘Letters from France’ a piece about the poetry and letters written home by Wilfred Owen, renowned World War 1 poet.

I am also one-half of a comedy duo called The Chimbley Bruvvers, which entertains with cockney banter and singalong Music Hall tunes.

For several years, I have been working as a concert singer throughout Sydney and Regional New South Wales, and also regularly perform concerts for seniors, both in Nursing Homes and public venues.

I am also a long-term member of acclaimed acappella singing band, Voices from the Vacant Lot.
