Eliane Morel singing La Vie en Rose with Josephine Tam on piano

I’ve been singing ‘La vie en rose’ to a lovely French lady in one of the Nursing Homes I visit. She loves it, and we sometimes sing it 10 times in one sitting, getting louder and louder and attracting more and more attention as we go. I’ve read that this was one of the first songs Edith Piaf wrote the lyrics for, and she was at first discouraged from singing it, as people around her thought it wouldn’t be popular… but of course it went on to be her signature tune.
