‘Disenchanted Goes Digital’
This digital rendition of ‘Disenchanted’ was supported by a grant from the NSW Government through Create NSW. It was made in collaboration with Daryl Wallis, Simon Dikkenberg, Mimi Worssam, Merran Hughes and Hayden Rodgers for the Melbourne Fringe Festival, was nominated for ‘Best Cabaret’ and is the WINNER of a prestigious Young-Howze Theatre Award for BEST ADULT 18+ SHOW. It’s so fantastic, the plan is to take it to Fringe Festivals worldwide in 2021. But in the meantime, if you can’t wait, you can purchase a copy and I’ll send you your own private link. Catch the 35 second preview below!
Exciting Announcement 3: Opera Bites will be performing Carmen at the Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts on Thursday 1 July at 6pm. Although this show is not open to the public, we’ll be performing it again soon after at the Castlereagh Boutique Hotel in July. Watch this space for more details!
Exciting Announcement 4: In 2020 I received a grant from Waverley Council to write a show about our local Olympic swimming legends, Fanny Durack and Mina Wylie, who were the first female Australian swimmers to compete in the Olympic Games, and the first women to win Gold and Silver medals in any swimming event at the Olympics. I’m collaborating on this project with Vashti Hughes, Soledad Cordeaux and Merran Hughes. Our team’s name is ‘Dangerous When Wet’ and we’ve just received another grant from Randwick Council to perform our show (working title ‘Gold for Australia’) at Wylie’s Baths in Spring 2021.
